CHAPTER 2 - TRIGONOMETRY
Sec. 2.1 - The Tangent Ratio
Welcome to SOHCAHTOA! You will become very familiar with this acryomn. This lesson will concentrate on the Tan Ratio. You will need to know that it is the opposite side divided by the adjacent side. You will also need to know how to use your calculator to change the Tan ratio from degrees to decimal and visa versa! Have fun!!!

Sec. 2.2 - Using the Tangent Ratio to Calculate Lengths
In this section you will continue to focus on the Tangent Ratio. You will focus on calculating the missing length on one side of the triangle. In order to calculate this you need one angle (other than the 90 degree one!) and the length of one side. Good luck and may the SOHCAHTOA force be with you!

Sec. 2.3 - Measuring an Inaccessible Height
In this MATH LAB we will be determining the height of an object, like a flag pole or tall building, that cannot be measured directly.

Sec. 2.4 - The Sine and Cosine Ratios
Now that you have an understanding of how to calculate Tangent ratio, we are now going to learn how to calculate Sine and Cosine ratios. The procedure to do this is very similar to the Tangent ratio procedure. Remember SOHCAHTOA!!!!

|
Sec. 2.5 - Using the Sine and Cosine Ratios to Calculate Lengths
Now we are going to take the ratios a step farther and use them to calculate the missing lengths of some of the sides. Good luck!
|
|
Sec. 2.6 - Applying the Trigonometric Ratios
Okay you made it!!!! We are now going to put it all together. This means that you will need to calculate the lengths of all the sides and all the angles of a triangle. You can use Sine, Cosine, or Tangent, depending on which one works best for you! You might also use Pythagorous, and please don't forget that all the interior angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees!

Sec. 2.7 - Solving Problems Involving More than One Right Triangle
Here we go!!! This is where we use all the knowledge that you learned in this chapter to answer some WORD PROBLEMS! Give it your best shot and remember that drawing a picture and putting your information into it will help you solve them!! May the MATH FORCE be with you!
